Maffra Neighbourhood House is a small not for profit community organisation.? Our aim is to provide social groups, skills sharing opportunities, life skills and accredited courses to the local community. We are open Monday to Friday from 9:30am until 3pm and are situated next to the hospital, 48 Kent St Maffra.
Our Statement of Purpose is

Our brochure contains many opportunities for the community to participate in social groups such as: craft circle, sewing boomerang bags, card making, Line Dancing, Dru Yoga, Dru yoga for seniors, Meditation, Creative Writing, Genealogy and Jig-saw group. Many of these groups are either free or only ask for a gold coin donation, making these groups accessible to everyone.
We also offer life skills and special interest courses such as: Introduction to computers, Broadband for Seniors, Developing computer confidence, IPad training, Craft your vision workshop, Blueprint warrior workshop, Cheese making, Fermenting 10. These groups are designed to increase life skills and assist people with digital isolation and developing coping strategies for stress and/or anxiety.
Our Accredited courses such as First Aid, CPR, Cert III in Childcare, Cert III in individual support (ageing), Cert IV in Community Services and Cert IV in Disability are aimed people in our community wanting to increase their skills and gain a qualification to assist with gaining employment.
Our Neighbourhood House also offers public internet access, a book exchange, a drop off point for various organisations and also refers people to other organisations as required.
Maffra Neighbourhood House is YOUR Neighbourhood House. Step up to support your local community and play a part of shaping the future direction of your local Neighbourhood House. We are looking for interested people to assist with the running of special events and activities throughout the year.
